Share of the estate

Why these shares

  • Husband: 1/4 when the deceased left children or son’s children, otherwise 1/2.
  • Mother: 1/6 with children or two or more siblings, otherwise 1/3.
  • ʿAwl: fixed shares add up to 4/3 of the estate, so every fixed share is reduced proportionally.
